Specialties
I work with teens and adults who are looking to better understand themselves, their emotions, and their relationships. My aim is to create a place for supported discovery and to help clients move toward what matters most to them.
I support clients in navigating depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, recovery from trauma, as well as body image and self-esteem concerns. As a queer person, I am dedicated to providing affirming support for LGBTQ+ people. I enjoy working with queer, trans, and gender-diverse clients on all aspects of sexual and gender identities.
My practice incorporates both cognitive and somatic approaches. I draw from Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My work is informed by Attachment Theory and Feminist Multicultural Therapy. I consider it an important aspect of therapeutic work to examine how our environments and culture have shaped us, and where there is opportunity to empower ourselves and others.
Em has a waitlist to see people in person in SLC, and anyone in Utah by teletherapy.
